Project Respect, Inc.

Restlawn (aka McMaster) is the cemetery on Wheatley Street at Ferguson Way in the Acres Homes community of Houston (412-T in the Key Map.) It is bordered on the east side by Prairie View Street.

We first became aware of the controversy surrounding the cemetery in the early 1990s when the previous owner, Mr. Jimmy McMasters, was officially cited for burying a junk car and other trash on the property and a failure to maintain the property. The Houston Chronicle did an excellent story on the sad plight of the cemetery at that time.
