Re: Adopt A Block Program

Please find attached Project RESPECT Letter of Intent and Application for the Keep Houston Beautiful - Adopt A Block program. Our intent is to take responsibility for the streets immediately around the Historic Evergreen Negro Cemetery located in the Greater 5th Ward. We did not include the blocks of Market Street that are parallel to the Cemetery Property as these areas are part of our normal maintenance program for the preservation of the Evergreen Negro Cemetery.

Our landscaping program for the areas applied for in this application will begin on October 10, 2010 with our work with the Global 10/10/10 Work Party and the Covenant Community Capital Corporation. We are committed to execute programs to enhance these areas with the initial cleanup and planting program that will begin on that date and will provide all future cleanup and maintenance as required by the Adopt A Block Program.
