Cleanup at Faulkey Gully Cemetery August 7, 2010

We are requesting of everyone who joined in the most recent clean-up, May 2009, at the Faulkey Gully Cemetery that you schedule Saturday, August 7, 2010 as "Preservation Day at the Faulkey Gully Cemetery", a.k.a. The Bottoms. We are asking Pastor Pickens and his congregation to please organize your team and join us for this work. We are also requesting the Mighty Men of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity once again to join us for this community service work. Everyone is invited, not just these groups.

Prior to the work we plan to meet for about ten minutes at the Pilgrim Branch Bible Church for recognition of the day and a brief ceremony. Anyone desiring to participate could be at the church at 07:00AM.

Since this date is far enough in the future we can plan for a longer work day, more hand equipment, tractors and lawn mowers, removal of tree limbs and other debris. We can also make arrangements for more on-site food and refreshments. Perhaps someone could bring a Bar B Que Pit and provide some home cooking. We will provide trash bags, first aid and safety supplies, axes, and a chainsaw. We will have a video camera on-hand to record the events of the day.

We are also requesting that everyone will bring a Native Plant, Flower Seeds, Bulbs, or anything appropriate to plant after the clean-up to commemorate the day of work and to begin beautification of the cemetery.
